Another thousand words, still no pics.

I don't see anyone taking anything personal in this thread, just because someone is calling you out doesn't mean they are the ones taking it personal.

What is disturbing about this is that, as a buyer, you have a responsibility to accept your new vehicle. You need to do a detailed walk around in sufficient light and not accept a new truck until you are 100% satisfied either with the vehicle or the in-writing promises by the dealer to resolve anything not up to expectations. Also as is the case here but not applicable to your concerns, if you are taking a vehicle that you have not driven, you need to drive it, as much as needed to be comfortable that there are no issues before acceptance.

Drive it, look it over, test out all of the features, document issues, accept your new truck - that's the way it works and if you would have done YOUR job, you would not be in this situation!!!!!

I am not saying that some of the panels are not messed up beyond acceptability. No panel should be uneven. No door should leak water. Etc. But if a door is hung 1/32nd of an inch off from top to bottom and this bothers you then my god...
Thank you for input and opportunity to clarify. Obviously I don't think anyone would be upset with what you quoted or anything within reason, that would be ridicules. I was a quality control supervisor for 4 years so I have an idea of what is within reason and what is not. Also I can see anyone with a negative outlook in general would instantly see my original post as a negative but was coming from a positive state of mind that nothing is perfect no matter what truck you get. Yes I went out looking at trucks, my profession got me curious and had a look for myself and it was a fun adventure. People I wrote this for with unquestionable issues would see it thru a different perspective I'm assuming. People who haven't experienced and their truck is the nicest one ever built couldn't relate but still should have an open mind that issues do exist in all makes and models. Other negative posts take these threads as their outlet form their real life for satisfaction thru negative controversy and Im ok with that too, its an understandable outlet. This was a positive gesture to the ones complaining with real issues so no reason to try turning it into a negative that so many are, I don't take offense because its just what some people do. I personally don't feel its socially unacceptable to express that nothing is perfect and to try and set a few people with ease who are banging their heads over real issues. These trucks will have their flaws just like any others, they are not perfect. For them not to look at their truck as its the worst decision and instead try to be happy with it, that others have worse issues and most of these are average. Nothing was said for you to be offended personally so say things like that. God bless. No reason to hate. You will feel happier befriending then offending

X2
Before purchasing my 2014 I gave it a full walk around inspection on my own to look for any defects or damage. Then before I signed any paper work the salesman made me do the same with him. I didn't really need to at that point but he insisted.
As **** as the OP seems to be, I'm surprised he just went ahead and signed the dotted line and accepted the truck without looking it over.

Have you ever actually sat in a new Ferrari? The interior is shockingly pathetic from a quality and fit & finish perspective. Worse than a GM product from the 70's, not kidding. Now of course I realize folks don't buy Ferrari's for a luxury interior experience, but still....

So, don't ever use Ferrari as a poster child for automotive quality.

1780 views in under 12 hours on my first thread. Im shocked, thank you all even though I feel most people were attracted to the title and opened the thread to stir up the pot or practice their debating skills for some popcorn eating entertainment Im sill greatfull. Most are trying to argue when they are actually agreeing with me that nothing is perfect, all will have something and most things can be fixed and some are way worse then yours. If someone views this and helps them set their mind at ease and love their truck a little more Id been even more happy then I already am. God bless guys and thank you

Amen to that. Drove a Ferrari back in the 80's (rental). The dashboard was plywood, the seats springs with no padding, carpet that even a cheap motel would reject. And that Ferrari had less than 1000 miles on it when I rented it.

It did impress a client though. No accounting for standards I guess.

Here is something from another member on this forum on what to keep an eye out for that people are having issues or not happy with, This is not from me lol, but from someone else's thread..... Check the truck over real good, If you are satisfied with the deal then Id defiantly buy over the Silverado or Ram. But for sure inspect it my friend. I have to laugh at everyone trying to flame me for being a nice guy with this thread and OMG how dare anyone say something about the quality of the F150, that these issues don't exist and absolute crazy for anyone to think such a thing lol and flaming me on how stupid I am of why I didn't have the time to wait on the purchase of mine. They don't know the situation and tragedy that accrued prior to the purchase day and why I needed to buy that day and what lead to the time that occupied after. Its a private family loss that doesn't need to be discussed with these type of people. Anyway this list was made from other peoples issues that have been mentioned over and over, most are easily fixable. Good luck with your new truck purchase and enjoy, here is what the other member listed.

"Is there someone who has been paying attention better than I who can add to the list of issues one should check before signing on the dotted line when picking up a new truck? Here is what I have so far:

List of Issues

Visual Inspection

· Visible paint problems, (door jambs) cracks, malformed body panels
· Check the space between the cab/ bed, make sure the gap is the same both sides.
· Cab/bed alignment
· Check if door gap is even, door alignments
· Climb into the bed and look down into the rooffor paint or malformation
· Hood/cowl /fender alignment / interference
· Tailgate alignment
· Sheet Metal smoothness ( especially @ doorhandles )
· Cracked window moldings
· Cowl joint weatherstrip
· Check keypad orientation
· Tailgate remote opening - sticking
· Tailgate damper - missing
· Roof gutter seam
· Frowning bumper :-(
· Check intake tube clamps for tightness
· Open/close doors, hood, tailgate

Under side

· Oil leaks, stains under the truck
· Differential leaks/seeping
· Rust on frame, drive line, etc
· F/R Differential rust
· Check door sticker for ORDERED axle code L9 (3.55 ELD )
· check the heat shield material glued to bottomof the truck bed.

Interior

· leaks on the carpet, stains
· Sunroof leakage (do the carwash)
· discoloration of glove box
· Rear seat center armrest fits flush
· Try All Seatbelts - extension problems
· Check the dashboard for any warps above the instrument cluster by the VIN plate and around the area of the passenger side airbag

Operation/drive tests

· Check NAV map version - should be latest (A6?)
· Check presence/ absence of heat/cooled seat controls on Climate Control screen.
· Console Rattle
· rattle noise at startup
· rattles in the dash
· rattles in the back seats, moonroof, front, rear doors
· wind noise, door, cabin
· Wind noise from top passenger side of windshieldor front door seals
· Shaking mirrors
· cooled (heated) seats that don't work
· Torque convertor whine noise
· Drifting to the right (or left) on flat level roads(check tire pressure first)
· 4x4 operation grinding clunking

Long term issues

· leather seat stretch(may take time)
· Be aware of possible adaptive cruise control issues
· Check for the rear end bumping to the side whengoing over bumps
· harsh downshift going from 5th - 4th (tsb may fix)
· Door/locks that freeze in cold weather after moisture is introduced
· Tailgate step pops up by itself (by half of aninch) over bumps

Drive it on a smooth road to listen for air leaks and test tracking, drive it on a bumpy road to listen for rattles and hums, take it thru a car wash to check for leaks(sunroof)."

Yes, that's the one I am talking about. I recall seeing an assembly video where that was welded together but you might be right. It didn't bother me all that much because I only saw it while getting out of the truck and using the step bar.
