If Ford is listening - requests from consumers on new packages?!?!
Howdy,
Enjoying yet another snow day here in sunny Seattle.
I was reading the truck trend this weekend reviewing the new model years. Very detailed review. http://www.trucktrend.com/truck-of-t...rpost-ptoty19/
Looks like they liked the chevy products more than motor trend which pretty much based the new chevy, funny. Additionally, a full refresh is probably on the way by 2022 or earlier for our F-150.
I feel like while Ford offers a lot of different packages, some improvements to stay competitive are necessary. My thoughts:
What say you?

- Add 4A to an XLT Package
- Improve the FX4 package. Its kind of a joke now. Give the FX4 badge some prestige, even if it means driving the cost more. Slight lift, truly off road tires, improved shocks.
- Or, do we need another Raptor that is a little less over the top (and expensive?)
What say you?

Ford is not listening, they haven't been on this forum for well over 2 years.

They haven't, but they are going to have to start to with the level the competition is currently at and the options being offered on lower trims.
LED headlights and tails as options on 300 series trims would be a good place to start, as well as keyless access/push button start.

Either way, I wish they would allow an expensive FX4 package that included 4A, but not sure if that would butt into the price point of a 502a, i guess probably. The other manufacturers do it, there must be a way. I know they are very strategic on selling a majority of 302a to maintain sales pace (hence the rebates) and its their profit driver.
For me, when I bought my 302a the sticker was $51k and I paid $36.9k OTD. The Lariat was $55k and I got them down the $46k but just couldn't justify the $10k and honestly happy with mine.

I will say this, both Chevy and Ram have jumped ahead of Ford in terms of options and packaging. You can get LED headlights, running lights and taillights on a 2019 LT Chevy/Big Horn Ram, no excuse why Ford can't put them on an XLT. You can get push-button start and intelligent access on an LT Chevy/Big Horn Ram now, again, no excuse Ford can't add this to the XLT. You can get factory leather on an LT Chevy/Big Horn Ram, no excuse Ford can't do this on an XLT.
The thing is, Ford is still the number one selling truck, by a good margin, so they really have no reason to do anything unless they start seeing their sales head over to GM or Ram. You have to vote with your wallet.

The real reason Ford won't do it is because they don't have to. They're the top dog, they can sit on their hands for now. If someone starts making a challenge to their sales crown, they might have to do something then.
