True, The Dealer (A Dealer) has to create an account that registers the unit SIM ID in the Remote Start System, you use the 4 digit PIN to link your created user account to the registered SIM. The Dealer I purchased the kit from did not charge me to do this, they also tested the operation and helped me troubleshoot the install.

There is a 'gotcha' when using FORScan to activate the feature, you have to enable Remote Start in the BCM 726-22-02 -and- in the IPC 720-02-02 (See FORScan F150 worksheet). If you only enable the IPC, you see the Remote Start option in the Instrument Cluster, the doors will remote lock/unlock but the car will not start.
