I made a mistake
So, I made a mistake I purchased a 2017 GMC Sierra SLT. it's an good truck however, I miss the 2014 Platinum I had. One thing is, the GMC does not have back seat air vents. I have a 8 month old and I need some air flow to her.
That being said, I know a refresh of the 2018 is coming out. Should I wait for good deal on a 2017 or lightly used 2016. I want a Lariat loaded, platinum or limited with tha ecoboost.

I feel your pain, but it is going to be an expensive mistake. Even worse, the GMC cooled seats in the front blow really hot air into the rear passenger area. The backs of my front seats were hot to the touch on really hot days.
If you trade, it will be a big loss. Selling privately may be the better way to go, but it depends on how much sales tax you save by trading. In my area, trading is usually a better option because sales tax is 10%.

The no AC vents in the back seat caused me to rule out the Sierra. My daughter is 5 and autistic so wouldn't be able to tell me if she was hot.
Depends how particular you are in what you want. I have a feeling there will start to be some good deals on the 2017s in the next month or so.
I usually find a car off the lot but decided this time I wanted to be particular so I'm going to order a 2018 on x-plan pricing (unless I can find a dealer that will go lower). I miss the 2011 Platinum I had (got rid of it in 2015 and have regretted it ever since)
Good Luck!

Lord, even the '17 Titan had three air vents for the crew cab seats.

If you're looking for the 3.5 eco then I would try to find a deal on a 2017 since the Powertrain is the same in 2018. Aside from the cosmetic refresh, there really isn't anything compelling to hold off for a 2018 IMO.
If you were looking at the 2.7 eco or 5.0 it would be a little tougher decision since both are being updated for 2018 and will come with the 10 speed currently offered in the 2017 3.5.
Do you have the 5.3 now? How do you like it? Did you have an eco in your last platinum?

First world problems. I remember when I was a kid our family car was a 83 Buick Park Avenue and as big as it was the A/C could keep it meat locker cold. No vents for the rear seat just the four panel vents. Still remember seeing the "fog" coming out of the vents.
