Good point. Not to mention that 99.99% of the time I know where the heck I'm going. I almost never need nav or Google Maps or Waze... when I do, the latter two give me all the info I need and then some.

A coworker was looking for a nav solution for an upcoming vacation a couple of months ago. Traveling from Indianapolis to Yellowstone. I thought to myself, "Who needs nav assistance for that? Go north until you see water, turn left and keep going until you see geysers."

How did any of us ever survive without GPS???

If you ever travel outside your bubble, it's a must to go around traffic jams. Ever think a street goes thru and end up in a dead end with ghetto bangers staring at you?
ahhhh, I know where you are talking about. That part of Chicago.

If you package the nav correctly, or get it on the truck packaged, the Nav turns out to be only $295. There is almost always a $500 discount if you get the Nav. You can do the math by the mile, but for 15 years, that's only like 20 bucks a year. I'm sure that's still not for you, but for $295, it's not a bad option for some.

In 1980 I was driving from Memphis to Breckenridge, CO. My father was an over the road bus driver and asked me how I was getting to Breckenridge. He was expecting highway numbers and distances. I told him I was driving to Albuquerque and turning right. That was my entire plan, but I made it to Breckenridge.

The percentage wasn’t meant to be taken literally lol. It’s saved me a couple times this year so it’s money well spent IMHO, especially when it’s such a small amount (I didn’t pay $795).

I know we're a bit off topic, but the city stories, reminded me when my ex girlfriend thought it would be cool to live in South Boston 20 years ago.

After two rear slashed tires, because she wasn't a Southie Native and a couple hairy confrontations, it was all good after her Irish background prevailed.

There's pockets of true Irish, but Gentrification has wiped out a community that really took care of their own.

When my '12 was totaled and I was lying there somewhere between sideways and upside down wondering what the heck just happened and whether I was alive or dying, the truck's Sync system used my phone to dial 911. Before I could even catch my breath, there was a 911 operator talking to me over the truck's audio system.

I'm not married to my phone like many people are, but you can bet that since then, when I'm in the truck, my phone is, too. Always.

Using Google maps or Waze through AA is just a bonus. But it's a nice one to have.
