I’m an idiot!!!!
I traded my 17’ 5.0L crewcab xlt with nav in for a 2018 leadfoot xlt 2.7L crew cab without nav, and I am just now realizing it!!! Damn it, I really liked the nav, how could I miss that!!! The truck is still in transit to the dealer. Man I’m pissed!

They can add it on at dealership - think its just a module behind screen.

If you have an Android phone, before you spend money getting the nav added, try Google Maps through Android Auto. I think you will be impressed. I think the iPhone folks have something similar, but I am not an Apple guy so I don't really know.

While the phone's can emulate Nav, IMO no contest.
I like my Ford GPS based Navigation and in addition, it also has the BIG easy to read screen.
Yeah, check with the dealership before delivery, maybe you can get a better deal that way.

I didn't care for the factory NAV in my 2014, so it wasn't a must have in my 2017.

My only concern is when I don’t have cell service, some of the places I go to duck hunt, I find on a google map and drop a pin and have no clue where I am and with out cell service I am still able to use my truck nav to get me back home lol.
i have heard that if nav was added and the vehicle was flashed at the dealer for some reason the nav would have to be restored, but I have no knowledge on the subject. I just can’t believe I missed the damn nav option on the sticker.

I have navigation in my F150 and also my Chrysler 300C. Have never used it either vehicle. Been using Waze for a couple of years now and think it's one of the best Navigation apps around. It does track your movements though - along with all other "Wazers" (that is the basis for its "real time" updates etc.) so important to know if that is important to you. Maybe worthwhile taking a quick look (download the App for free) before making a decision on you Navigation situation. Congrats on the new truck.

I know that the smartphone people will chime in saying that you don't need Nav, but once you get used to the huge screen, compared to a phone, not needing to run power cables, having a Mickey Mouse gadget to mount the phone somewhere where you can see it, having to take it with you every time you stop (theft) and wondering if you are going to an area with spotty cell service, well, the phone just does not cut it.
Been there, done that, got tired of squinting at the damn tiny map.
I mean, really??? And this is with having 12 volts in the middle of the dash.

I bought my truck off the lot, and never thought about Nav until after closing the deal. I was sure I was going to miss having Ford Nav -- I had it in my previous truck, and even though I didn't use it alot, it was good to have now and then. After using Google maps and Waze via Android Auto, I don't miss factory nav at all. Both of the AA apps are far superior to the factory nav system, IMO. Waze especially -- it literally updates your route within a few seconds if you venture off-route
