I am assuming you are using a mobile device, as I've never encountered it on a computer.

If you are on android, and using chrome, you can click the upper right menu and check the box that says "desktop site" and it will never show up again as the site serves up different ads and that annoying ad is only for mobile as far as I can tell. The site still works fine, you may have to get used to some zooming in and out now, but its not a big deal to me at least and well worth it for the lack of those annoying ads.

I have an I phone. This add takes over my phone the whole screen. You can’t hit the back button and get out. The only thing I know to do is reload this site and start again.

Chrome also has a very nice experimental feature that will prevent this garbage. Take a look here: https://www.ghacks.net/2017/11/09/en...google-chrome/
I'm using it on my phone and it works beautifully to prevent the malicious redirects that come in from the ad network that this site uses.

On iPhone try going into settings> safari> Clear history and website data. So far it seems to help.

I had the same issue and ended up just installing an ad blocker on my phone. So far I haven’t seen that ad since.

You need to go to the App Store and download an ad blocker....it’s the only effective way to stop those types of ads on forums for iPhone. Look for either Purify or Never Ads or the like. After downloading, go to Settings>Safari>Content Blockers and turn it on. Problem should be solved.
