Default I was impressed...

Just about ready to purchase a new 2016 F150 and dealership brought a King Ranch I was interested in from another state. I'm retired military and at age 61 it's time to treat myself. I've only had a few pickups in the past, a '94 Nissan "Hardbody" - a '98 Ram 1500 - a new '98 Chevy S10-SS - an 03 Ram 1500 and my current '04 Ram 2500. I've been reading throughout this forum and watched probably every 2015/2016 F150 video on Youtube for months now. So I test drove the KR today.

I would have to say that I was amazed at just how far trucks have come over the years. I thought the Hemi was quick, but the 3.5 Ecoboost was so smooth and much quicker. Having all the bells and whistles the KR was so comfortable, I've never driven anything like it before and I am sold. I told my salesman that if he could find me an Ingot Silver Platinum equally equipped, we will have a deal if the numbers are right. This KR priced at $65k+ and with all the available incentives it's down to $58k. I'm hoping to negotiate a bit more. Really looking forward to my new F150.

This is the KR I drove today.

Look around at out of state dealerships for better deals. I'm in Florida, but there's a dealership in Texas that has huge discounts because they are so massive. I know it's not a F150, but they had 250's that were 68,000, down to 55,000. If you don't mind driving or flying to save more it may be worth it. Also, if you think that ecoboost is quick, the 2017 is going to be much quicker at 375hp and 470 lbs of torque.

Yeah I had an 07 5.4 3v and my new 2.7 EB is much faster than it, without a doubt.

There should be a little more money there to come off that price. I was looking at a KR also and ended up getting a Plat. They are awesome trucks, you'll love it. After it looked like i had my final deal,i told them to throw in a bed liner and long distance remote start with 2 way fobs and it's a deal. There's always just a little more there.

Great looking truck!! But a few others have said - but keep looking around.. (and agree with whoever posted about Texas) I live in Dallas - and trucks are about 10K off MSRP... a KR should get that as well.. you can always throw that at them - "Match that deal and I'll buy from you" - they'll do it every time.. They're still making money 10K off a 65K truck.. and you walk out not spending as much.. Good luck to you! KR and PLatinum's are VERY nice trucks..

I bought a Lariat last year - has been my favorite car/truck i've ever owned.. MY MSRP was 47K - I paid 37K

Shortstuff, try using on online car buying service such as TrueCar.com or similar to see what how it compares to what the dealer is offering you. That's what I did and dealers were willing to go even lower. Of course I bought an XLT which is where the greatest incentives can be had. If it were me, I'd aim for a price of between $53k - $55k. GL

Congrats and welcome to the club. Aim for invoice - rebates - dealer hold back. Search for hold back info on this forum as there is a thread Kb posted info and great details re holdbacks. Invoice price you can get a fairly strong estimate by using Edmunds or Truecar. Of course easiest way is for the dealer to show you invoice price.

As for rebates after 10/3, I understand they took off the conquest rebate of $500 which was beneficial for folks currently leasing. They also took off the ford loyalty rebate.
