Default I finally did it!

... And I predicted the way it would happen.

We have a client here from Switzerland. The other guys I work with don't live here and have compact rental cars. So I suggested I'd drive to lunch. Went to use the keypad to unlock my truck. As everyone was already approaching the truck, so it was a little rushed. I must have missed a number so I went to reenter my code. And here's the problem. I've noticed if you go too fast, sometimes it doesn't register so when you get back to the number you missed, it unlocks. Well I must have missed the number right before the one that drops the tailgate. So the doors unlock immediately followed by the tailgate beginning to drop. It lowered right into a sign post and scratched the tailgate. Not to primer, so hopefully it'll buff out, but I KNEW this would happen.

First scratch over with, so now I can start having fun with it

Lol.

So drop the Windows from the fob is a negatory but drop the tailgate from the fob is A.O.K?

WTF Ford

Jeeze! I just saw the other guys thread on the topic. What a pain in the ash.

Must be a Lariat type option. no use for something like that personally.

I got a couple of small rock chips somehow on my hood! They are small, but very noticeable! Hope the touch up paint I bought from Ford will do a good job hiding them.

I agree 100%. I mean if your hands are full, you still have to put something down to reach in your pocket and hit the button or type in your code. That's just as easy as hiring the button on the tailgate. I saw one guy said he used it to lower the tailgate at a stop light then took off to empty the snow out of his bed. I live in NC. Thank God i don't need it for that.

I have had Explorers with keypad for over 15 years. There have been MANY times that I accidentally popped the hatch window with the keypad... and did not know until I was driving and the light came on... inconvenient but no damage... but if the tailgate on F150 drops, that could be BAD. Ford definitely missed the real-world testing here...

Don't use the Ford touch-up paint...

Use this https://www.drcolorchip.com/

I used this on my TB 13 Focus ST and it worked really well...
