Just plug into obd port and set tire height.

It's weird to me that this thing has no problem re-calibrating a speedo but none of the tuners can do it. Either Hypertech is awesome or SCT/Livernois are half-assing their products right now.

Default Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator

I set my 265/75R20 to 33.5" and my speedo was dead on.

SCT/Livernois program the PCM only, starting with 2015 tire size is set with the BCM and hypertech programs that for tire size. I have a Livernois tune and a Hypertech tire programmer both on my truck right now and works great.

Thanks. I understand how the 2015 changed from PCM to BCM but you would think this would have been addressed during programming of the tuners. SCT says they are working on an update and that it should be "soon" according to 5*.

I just don't want to go out and buy the Hypertech to do a one time change. Maybe twice if I ever get rid of it and put stock tires back on.

This is the part I don't understand about the Hypertech installation. Taken from their website.
Installation Is A Snap

"Using the USB cable connect the in-line Speedometer Calibrator Module to your PC and enter the new tire height and/or rear gear ratio. There are no limitations to tire height or rear gear ratios. Next, simply disconnect the factory connector to the instrument cluster (behind the dash), snap in the Speedometer Calibrator Module, reconnect the cluster, and you're done! In a matter of minutes, you can accurately correct your speedometer and odometer readings"

Livernois said they are working on it also. I figured if they do get where it can then I'll just sell my hypertech after. I hate not having my speedo read right for the time being.

Is it only VIN/BCM/PCM locked if you correct the tire size? Meaning that once you change it back it's not locked anymore?

Those instructions are for an in-line (always connected) calibrator. The model users are using plug in to the OBDII port. When I talked to the dealer he thought I had an F250 and told me I needed an in-line. When I corrected him that I had an F150 he said he could flash it with the Hypertech or I could buy my own.

Don't overthink it. Plug the thing into your OBDII port and follow the instructions. My wife could do it.
