Default Hydrolocked my engine

Long story short we received far more rain than I realized. I've contacted my insurance (GEICO) and they were saying this week an adjuster or somebody will contact me with the next steps in this process. I chose this route because I figured there was a 99.99% chance warranty would laugh me out the door. I would have just done a rebuild myself but I fear a connecting rod may have possibly damaged my cylinder wall? (its worse than remove spark plugs, sounds like a lil tin man has a hammer and wants out) To get a new 5.0 crate it would run me far more than I can just shell out. What I'm trying to ask is has anyone else been in this boat before or does anyone have experience working with or for insurance companies that can help guide me with what is to come? What are the chances insurance will actually cover the incident? Also if indeed insurance takes care of me will they change my title status to flooded or salvage or anything other than clean? If so is there a way to fight it? One of my friends mentioned file for diminished value but if I understand correctly I'm at fault here which means I have no grounds to file? Lastly since I am at fault would it be naive to think rates wont go up? I appreciate any help and insight anyone has, I'm in over my head on this one (pun intended?) 2016 f150 XLT SCREW 5.0 4X4

Merry Christmas

As a side note no water got in the cab or ruined computers etc but I was thinking about it earlier and don't know where the transmission breather is? do the diffs and T-case have vents? should those fluids get changed as a precaution?

I'm curious how did the water get into your engine?

Went through a crossing that was far deeper than I expected/ previously experienced. Water was well over the hood for a few seconds. I got across barely and my buddy with a Chevy Colorado that sits lower did the same but his intake is on passenger side and goes into the fender somehow? did just fine.

The diff's have breathers on the top of the axles, I'm sure they have water in there too. Not sure where/if there is a trans breather, logic says there has to be one.

Why did you not stop going through the crossing when you saw that the water was deeper than you expected? Or were you "flying" through it?

The positive note is that you did make it to the other side. The engine air intake is lower than the hood, so that really was luck on your side.

Thank you I'll mention that concern when I speak to the adjuster and push for those fluids to be changed. A bit off my own topic but I wonder how hard it would be to extend those breathers as preventative in the future cause I've traversed water that is above wheels many times. Yeah there was a bit of speed/ momentum that may have been my only saving grace to not sitting in the middle of the water as it seeps into my cab.
