Id like to go to auto hvac due to handicapped rt arm. Is this possible? Anyone have a procedure for this?

 

its possible but you would have to completely overhaul the system, wiring, modules, control panel, sensors etc

 

Im up for the task if someone has done it and has a procedure. Dont think I want to reverse engineer if no one has done it.

If the comment is true that it wont control the vents but will the temp then that is all I want.

 

So I changed my FCIM out for a Lariat or higher FCIM adding autoclimate. I can confirm this works and as far as I can tell it controls the vents as well. Maybe it depends on what year and trim. I have a 2017 XLT 302a. The biggest thing that prevents people from switching to the autoclimate FCIM is the dual zone does not work and factory XLT heated seats don't work from what I can tell from reading up on this topic. Hope this helps at all.

 

Im a 2016 reg cab XL with a wimpy 101a. So I dont really care about the heated seats although, I may add them when I recover but I could just do switches for them somewhere. I think my challenge might be I just have the 4.3 display. In wonderig if it would mount on my dash with the bottom row of buttons hidden behind the plastic. I wonder if the android devices and devices like the metra 99-5834CH will do temp control. Based on what I can find I think it wont.. it just has the same adjustment as manal.. up and down.. but have not verified. If I can find an androuid device that will do temp control I will be very temped.. like:
I also want to run forscan gauges and I think an android device like that might let me do that so I dont have an ugly tablet protruding somewhere. This is cool too; but again I dont know if it will do static temp control which is my goal:

 

Gotcha, sorry I did not do much research on putting it in an XL. It kind of sounds like djfllmn I right in your case about the system overhaul. Sorry again I could not be of much help.
