how to? remote start?
hello all-
X Chevy owner here, I picked up a new 2016 xlt scab this week.
I installed the ford remote start module today (ft4z-19a361-a). I got the little fobs working that came with the kit by using these instructions http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/at...2&d=1456486628
I tried programming the factory fob the same way. but they won't work.
how do I program them to work? my fobs are the 3 button lock/unlock/panic
my ecm has been programmed
thanks for any help.
I will post on my truck shortly. 3.5 na.

with the factory key doesn't work, with the little fob that came with the kit works fine, but I want it to work with the stock/factory key/transmitter. don't want to have 2 key controllers in my pocket.
Is it capable? I see that you can arm and disarm the system by pressing the lock and unlock button on the factory remote. But remote start probably requires you to use the one that the unit came with.
I think you'll probably have to get new fobs that have 4 buttons on them. Lock, unlock, panic and start. There's an old thread on here somewhere that covers this issue I think. I vaguely remember seeing it.
From what I remember that was the draw back, you had to carry 2 fobs unless it came from the factory with remote start.
Unless you used the ford remote access and used your phone as the remote.

Factory remote and the accessories remote, have different frequencies, so it is not possible to get the remote that came with your truck, or a new remote you might purchase through a dealer, to work with the system you have installed.
