How to lock in the keyfob :(
Is there a way to know or get a warning of some kind if you lock in the key fob in the vehicle?
It's about 3 days old, so still learning the quirks.
Scenario:
I didn't know the wife had left her fob in a jacket pocket inside of the truck. It was unlocked when I was testing out some Forscan things. I locked it when I was done by pressing the driver handle. I had the other fob in my pocket so it makes sense this works.
A number of hours later, I got an email from a not happy wife. Fortunately it has SYNC Connect, so I could unlock it. The PIN pad would work, except I have not programmed those yet as this will be the first vehicle we've had with this feature.

She should type in the code on the door? You don't have to program it, use the number they gave you. You can always lock the keys in it if you use the door code to lock it. Or are you wanting to advertise to the world, hey I just locked this thing, but there are keys in it still.
I need to look up what the factory code is, and use that to set them up. Installing Ford Pass on her phone would have also been helpful.
What I'm looking for is a way to know that I've just locked the other fob in again when using the door handle lock.
She's had a Mustang for the last couple years [no keypad] and still does, and in wife words "Truck is dumb". If you try to lock the fob in the Mustang it honks if you have the other one with you. If you only have one fob in range, have the doors locked toss the fob in the trunk and close it, the trunk will pop back open. Really handy if you don't realize you just dropped it in when loading things.

If you lock your pickup with your key fob, with hers inside, does it also honk? I assume both models would act the same.
I guess Ford assumes if you use the keypad to lock it, you're probably going to use it to unlock it. Tons of people prefer to leave the keys inside stashed somewhere, using only the number pad to get in and out of it. Nothing in your pockets, hoping the battery doesn't die I suppose lol.

Using the factory code to unlock there is nothing to set up. It already works.
If you use the door pad to lock the truck it doesn't matter where the key(s) are, it will lock. You can either unlock with the fob (providing they're not both in the truck) or the door pad. There is no beep when locking the truck with the door pad whether there is a key inside the truck or not.

I believe if you have a passenger and they get out after you lock it via the bottom 2 push pad buttons (when trying to lock the keys in it) the truck will honk and unlock.
As far as the code goes use the one supplied from the factory.

The first thing you should do when you get home with a new Ford is REMOVE THE CODE from the glovebox. That code cannot be changed, so if it's seen by valet parking attendants they can always get into your vehicle. Then, go into your phone and put the code under a contact, not obvious. And program your own code (see manual) so that you don't even have to look at your phone. Your dealership should have shown you the card when they went through things before you left, which they are supposed to do.
The vehicle will not let you lock the fob in the truck IF you don't have another fob on your person when you lock it. So no, if your wife leaves her fob in the truck, and you lock it from outside with your hand, the door code, or your fob, it will lock and not tell you.

The Ford code doesn't go away, no matter how many codes in input.
