Default How do you update maps on Sync 3?

My 2016 truck is only a few days old (well, to me), but I have a question regarding the maps.

It came with a CF card for the navigation maps.

From what I understand, my 2016 doesn't have a CF slot.

I can't find anything in the manual about it and I haven't found a slot in the vehicle either.

So, if the maps are on CF and there's no slot, how do you update?

And why does my new truck have a CF Nav card with the rest of the documentation if there's no slot for it?

Or am I just missing something here?

Great white,

Congrats on the new truck! SYNC 3 does not use an SD card for the navigation system. We haven't been informed yet of how the maps will be updated, but you can inquire with HERE Maps for info. They are the company who produces and provides the map information. You can reach them at www.navigation.com or at 866-462-8837.

Talking to HERE Maps, the install will probably be via USB and run around $149. Price is set, in part, by Ford. Best guess will be first half of 2017.

Brain fart, should have written SD, not CF.

This came with the truck:

Hmm, no slots in the truck. Outside of package says "A1", card says "A4".....it also has "Sync Powered by microsoft" on the back. Sync 3 is actually sourced through Blackberry isn't it?

Dealer tossed the wrong stuff in the wrong truck maybe?

That's not for Sync3 the Sync2 systems used those SD cards for the maps. Like you said must be a mistake it was in the truck.

Definitely not for your truck. What's even more bizarre is the the A4 maps are quite old I believe.
