Wednesday my F150 goes in to have another transfer case installed. Including the one it came with originally, this is number 3.

Keep us posted on whether or not the noise goes away. I've been just dealing with it for now. The second transfer case is just as noisy as the first one was

I have what I assume is the same noise (3.5tt, 4x4). No performance issues. My dealer says it is normal, but they say that about every concern. I'll probably just ignore it unless the issue gets figured out and I can tell them what TSB to look for.

So did the noise come back on the 3rd one or does it seem to be fixed?

I bought a showroom truck a few weeks ago that had exactly the sound that you describe -- particularly on acceleration onto the highway. It bothered me so much, and the dealer insisted it was normal. I drove FOUR other trucks at that same dealer and none of them sounded like that! I actually returned the truck when the dealer said they needed it in service for "three or four days". I bought another one, but this apparently isn't unique.

The truck was a 2.7L Lariat S-Crew 4x4 with 3.73 gears.

So far so good. I don't know how many miles I've driven but I'll verify that today. I really hope this is the end of it.

LOL to the guy above me who said he drove four other trucks that didn't make that sound but the dealer told him it was normal. I can't stand that. Glad you traded out of it.
