Question How to activate DRLs???

I made some edits to the DRL configuration using FORscan. How can I activate the DRLs in my garage to ensure the configuration changes took place?

Start the truck and put it in gear. Have someone verify they are on.

Put a mirror in front of the truck, sit in it, turn it on, plant your foot on the brake and put it in gear.

You may not get your DRL's to come on in your garage, if your headlight switch is in auto, your headlights will come on if its dark enough, same goes in the evening. Be outside your garage with the lights shining on your garage door. If your doing turn signals or parking lights then your gonna have to do what the other guys said.

You can also set the parking brake, put the transmission in Neutral, get out and look at it for yourself. I just confirmed that my DRLs remain on in Neutral (they turn off in Park).

I gave this method a try and it did not work on my 2017 F150. Thanks for the suggestion.

DRL Daytime Running Light are on all of the time, not when it’s dark.

@defiant1

I recommend:

Ignition on
Parking brake engaged
Park lever in neutral position
Configure head lamp rotary switch position to Auto
Verify DRL checkbox is enabled in the instrument panel settings (this sub menu is hidden by default on all Canadian imports).
Ensure flashlight is directly illuminating the ambient light sensor for at least 30 seconds
Ensure ambient light sensor is not operating in night mode by changing your instrument panel backlight and counting the increments available
Then verify which DRL circuits are illuminated.

What exactly are you trying to enable?
Are the headlights stock, aftermarket or retrofit OEM between different trim levels?
Which country was it originally sold in?
What headlights did it originally have compared to what it has now?

American vs Canadian, LED vs Halogen DRL configurations require specific edits in the BCM and IPC.

Owners here which suggests DRL's work this way or that way may not realize DRL's fundamentally operate different by region.
We don't all live in the same place or drive the same trim levels; there is no blanket answer.

Thanks for the input. I verified the FORscan changes took. I happened to be following vehicle and could see the DRL reflection in their bumper/tailgate. I have the DRLs set to fronts, turns and fog lights (SS3 yellows). No headlights are used in the DRLs. I like this setup so far.
