My wife does that on her truck, it is annoying! I keep telling her to check if the lights flash, it means it locked!!! I hate hearing the horn when she is just wanting to lock the doors.

Does the alarm activate by just clicking once? I always assumed clicking once locked the doors and clicking twice activated the alarm.

yes it does, the only reason why the horn honks is to confirm the lock if you press it twice(like if you are walking away from the truck). Its easier for me to just listen for the honk rather than look for the signals to flash

The alarm activates when truck is locked and all doors/hood are closed. You don't even need the remote for that; just lock the truck with the door lock button. Or the keypad, if equipped. All of that should be in the manual . Plus you can test it if desired by leaving a window open.

I find honk very useful: it double honks when the doors are not shut properly letting you know to get back and close the doors. My kids don't close the doors properly every other time and double honk saves me from leaving the truck half locked.

Single click is all that’s needed to lock and arm the truck.
