Is this normal? 2018 5.0 4x4 super crew 6.5. It seems to be getting worse but nothing looks bent or anything. Bugs the hell out of me besides the trailer tongue does not seem to be on quite right sometimes. Every truck I have ever owned the hitch will be in the same plane as the frame- this one is like 10 or more degrees off like it is bent down. Is this a common issue? i have searched but cannot find anything.
You could go aftermarket if you don't mind the extra cost. The CURT brand has a hitch specifically designed to install with the factory hitch still in place, tilted or not. If you wanted to remove the factory hitch and just have one receiver , they also have an option for that. You can find them here:
I've only towed a couple of times with my truck, and never noticed anything weird with the drawbar. Just confirmed with a level that it's perfectly level. However, the frame is far from that, as we all know, due to the factory rake. So it's pretty obvious Ford engineers had to compensate for that. Therefore, it'd be nice those with the 'problem' state if they leveled their trucks or not, because that very well be the reason for it. I also don't doubt for a second Ford has lousy tolerances for that, but at least my truck had that right.

For the first time, I'm pleased a thread has been resurrected. I had no idea you could get a hitch that's design to sit underneath... a hitch. This is a truck ***** level of stupid, maybe worse, as I'm not sure what to think about someone that would want to sport a second hitch. I'm naming this... Double-D syndrome. TIL.

No, the problem is not limited to those who leveled their truck. Go to the thread cited above and read for yourself.
