Default Hit a curb!!

So i wasn't paying attention while driving in my neighborhood and I hit a curb with my passenger side rear tire. I was going approx 10-15 mph. I hit ;hard enough to to slash a hole in the tire and make a small gash in the rim. Other than replacing the tire, is there anything else I should worry about having sustained damage during the incident. I didn't visualize anything else wrong when putting the spare on and it seems to be driving fine, just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything.

If you're keeping the wheel, i'd make sure the tire shop checks that its not bent or out of round.

When checking for bent/ out of round make sure its a tire shop you can trust. Been a while ago but I had idiots at a discount tire turn a patch job into a replace because they used the machine improperly and tore the bead of the tire and then wanted me to pay for the new tire. Wouldn't want some idiot that doesn't know what they are talking about to say yeah it looks all good.

I would say since its the rear, get the wheel checked out to make sure it isn't cracked or bent and properly fixed if so. Then new tire and good to go. There are lots of wheel restoration places that can refurbish wheels if they aren't too badly damaged.

Check out any custom wheel shops in your city. I bought a spare wheel for my mustang. The wheel was pretty scratched and scuffed. The custom shop I went to refurbished the wheel and it looks like new. Cost if I recall was around $CAD200. It was ready in a day or two.

Sorry I have no pictures.

Believe it or not most dealers under cut most on tire cost,Make sure they check the wheel where it got dinged, Some dealers have a custom wheel place that specializes in making the wheel new again, too bad about your mishap I have done that before!!!

Find a place with Hunter Road Force Elite equipment and they can check if the wheel is still true. The machine uses lasers to measure wheel runout. Other than that, if you aren't hearing bearing noise, hen you should be good.

The axle bearing would have taken a shock. I bent a bearing cage on the front of Pathfinder after hitting a curb. Just enough to scrape and make a whining noise, but didn't damage the bearings or races. It was weird.

Not much you can do about it but might explain a failure in the future.
