Default Hill decent button purchase problem

Ordered via OEM Parts. Funny but is formatted EXACTLY like TASCA.
Gave them my VIN because they check to make sure items match.
Ordered several days ago, today I get a message that this part is not compatible by VIN and this other linked part is the one for my truck. Do you want this substitution?
UNFORTUNATLY, the link goes to a replacement Auto start stop/ hazard light switch!
so I went to the Ford VIN decoder site, can’t see any thing that would make me think it was incompatible.
WTF?

Just tell them to send you the part number you ordered.

It is not compatible with your truck because... your truck didn't come with that feature.

Ford dealers parts websites are RevolutionParts. Scroll to the bottom. "Powered by RevolutionParts 2021". Individual dealers can pay more to modify pieces of it, and can fix things like shipping box dimensions and weights.

So Tasca didn't make their parts website, neither did OEMFordapart...

its already been said but that becasue you are ordering a part that your truck doesnt have.

If you order XLT mirrors and they check your VIN and see you have an STX, they wont sell them. So either order somewhere that they dont require a VIN or get a VIN of the vehicle that has the part you want. Go to autotrader, find the truck you need which looks to be a 2019 FX4, copy that Vin and start buying parts, lol

A good example of this is seats, im looking for a 10 or 8 way powered seat...since the seat I want came out of an XLT, i always search for 2018+ XLT's.

Buy it from RockAuto - The Hill decent is the only part I have ever ordered from them so very sure this is the description and part number taken straight from my invoice

From imhip2: Motorcraft SW7478 Turn signal switch
That's what I ordered from Rock Auto, and it worked just fine in my 2019 XLT 3.0L.

This thread is giving me flashbacks to 1998 when I helped a buddy put some edelbrock heads on his 350 and the parts store monkey didn't want to sell us the spark plugs we needed because the computer said he needed tapered seat plugs.

LOL. I had a similar problem with parts monkeys claiming my 80 dodge van with a 360 4bbl did NOT come with a 4bbl carb and I had a 2bbl carb. He insisted I didn't know what I was talking about. Never went back there again . f-ing parts monkeys.
Op. Just use part number to search other sources and you might find it cheaper. Don't use your vin. My hill descent works great BTW.
