Default Hey Ford here is an idea

1. Don't make the FREAKING horn honk twice when I get out with the truck running and close my door. My god I wanna clip the wires to that thing. I mean I get it it needs to do something in case I forget to shut it down but why not make some much more subtle but noticeable noise instead of the dang horn blowing. My neighbors are probably pissed at me.... It's like they don't test these things.

2. Make the doors auto lock when I shutdown and walk away.

are you trying to lock the truck with the keys in the ignition and running?

Probably not. If you have the electronic key, with the engine running and you get out and shut the door - it flipping honks. No way around it. It's a total PITA.
I'd almost venture a guess that it could be fixed with a software update.

There is a fix already.. Just hard to find someone that will do it for you.

Do tell.

And yes it is a total PITA.

For example. Get out of the truck with it running and even leave the drivers door open, walk around to get something out of the passenger side, close the passenger door

HONK HONK

At 11pm I know my neighbors aren't happy.

They should make a nice pleasing chime that won't wake up the whole freaking neighborhood but will let me know the truck is running if I forgot.

Seriously Ford hires all these college boy engineers. They should hire a couple of dumb@55es like me and we could fix a few things for them.

My 2007 Vette auto locks when you walk away with the FOB in your pocket. That thing is 9 years old... On my Platty which cost more than the Vette by the way I have to touch a button on the handle.

How about we delete the button (hardware) and replace it with some software.

Great truck by the way.

Just a few what the hells????

Either turn the engine off before you get out or leave the key in the cab. Problem solved.

I don't want my truck to autolock, ever.

If someone has had this fix performed I could tell you what needs to be changed in the as built data. Also there are other tools out there that can change as built data that are a lot cheaper than IDS/VCM

Wasn't there a law suit a while back about cars with push start running while the person walked away?? I believe the double honk or some sort of notification is a law with the push starts now. It was somewhat recent but I remember the person left the car running in the garage and forgot to shut it off, long story short carbon-oxide sensors went off they found out it was the car running... Anyway I know my mothers BMW had a recall and when it came back it had a three pulse honk for car running and a double for keys, lights on honk.....
