this is my first post on any forum so apologies for anything I’ve likely got wrong. I am not an internet expert or mechanic.
I have a 2019 ford f150 XLT with tow package. I wanted to install a trailer brake but it seems like every video shows this plug plugged into the back of the coin holder that is used. My plug seems to be plugged into this mystery harness?? Any ideas on why or what this is? (Not sure if this is even the correct plug, but also if not how would I go about installing the correct plug? Thank you!
After doing some more digging, it turns out that the previous owner installed some 1980s looking Reese trailer brake aftermarket kit. I will be deleting this and installing the factory kit.
Appreciate your response! My harness was plugged into an aftermarket harness specifically designed for aftermarket trailer brake controllers and it was tucked hidden way down below. I pulled it all out and put the one I bought from local ford dealer in. I will do the forscan stuff tomorrow and should be good to go!
