Dealership reports a bad actuator in the gate. They told me the tailgate had a great deal of water in it. I park outside and we just had a Hurricane. With the bed cover and a sloping driveway I think the runoff can only go into the flat surface on the tailgate and then in the old man step which does not seal tight. Anyone else have this problem and if so what is a solution. Thought about having the dealership drill a couple 1/8 inch holes in the bottom of the gate. I would really hope the electric actuator would last more than 10 months this time. Don't get me wrong, I understand nothing is perfect and don't expect that from an auto mfg. There must be a cause and effect that can be circumvented. The bed does have a factory sprayed in bed liner. I hope this conversation will help others and perhaps lead to a work around to prevent this malfunction.
Still lovin the Coyote!

The tailgate will not hold water. Either you have 20 lbs of dirt in their plugging the holes or the dealer is full of crap. There may have been moisture in there and that would be normal but no way was there a"great deal of water" in it. That being said it doesn't really matter as long as they are fixing it for you.

Correct dealer full of , ya well anyway
It was moisture and it was blamed for the failure. Fixed now and locking the way it should.
The guy at the counter in service over stated the issue.
