Default Help with P1450 Code

I have a 2017 XLT 3.5 ecoboost that keeps throwing a P1450 code- fuel vacuum leak. It has been in the garage for this at three different dealers over 10 times. Canister purge valves and canister and fuel filler neck have been replaced. It started it at 20,000 miles and now has 37,000 and is out of warranty. Dealer has no answers other than to keep bringing it back and now I get to pay. Anyone else have these issues and any help appreciated. Thanks

From the PC/ED Manual

P1450 - Unable To Bleed Up Fuel Tank Vacuum

Description:

This DTC sets when the evaporative emission (EVAP) running loss monitor detects excessive fuel tank vacuum with the engine running, but not at idle.

Possible Causes:
  • EVAP purge valve stuck open
  • Blockages or kinks in the EVAP canister tube or EVAP canister purge outlet tube between the fuel tank,
  • the EVAP purge valve and the EVAP canister
  • Fuel filler cap stuck closed, preventing vacuum relief (if equipped)
  • Contaminated fuel vapor elbow on the EVAP canister
  • Restricted EVAP canister
  • EVAP canister vent valve stuck partially or fully closed
  • Plugged EVAP canister vent valve filter
  • VREF circuit open
  • Damaged FTP sensor
Diagnostic Aids:

Visually inspect the EVAP canister inlet port, EVAP canister vent valve filter, and EVAP canister vent hose assembly for contamination or debris.

Check EVAP purge valve for vacuum leak.

Don't know about emission warranty. Anyone else have this issue. I would try and fix it myself but don;t know where to start after all the dealership has done with no relief.

Don't know where you live, so I don't know if this is an issue, but there have been a lot of threads about rodents chewing wiring harnesses. It wouldn't hurt to carefully check the harness to the EVAP valve for damage.

I would think it would still be under warranty since it was reported under 36k and not repaired. You might contact ford customer service and explain the situation

I asked the dealer and they told me that even though the problem started before at 20,000 miles after each repair order is closed it's like you are coming in with a new condition. They told me I would have to pay. After 10 trips i'm about done. The reason I bought the Ford over a Tundra was the gas mileage, I have already burned up the difference in trips to dealer. I will call Ford and see if I can get any help but I doubt it.

I wouldn't pay a dime. That dealer is BSing you hoping that you don't press the issue. Most definitely call Ford and tell them to look into it.

The evap system is definitely part of the emission warranty. 8 years and 80k miles.
