NEED HELP!
Okay so I’ve got a 19 2.7 I put a load in the bed of about 1800 pounds and now there is a bounce when I hit a bump only on my drivers side of the bed. I got under there and checked it out and nothing seems wrong. I shake the bed and the whole truck moves. The only thing I could see that looked even remotely damaged was the clamps on the leaf springs on my drivers side.
They look a little bent out.
Compare the leaf springs side to side. For example the relation of that spread out clamp in the relation to the frame rail right next to it. Are they both in about the same position? Is one higher up or closer to the frame rail than the other. That much weight, you likely overloaded the springs and one is now damaged maybe.
Probably blew that shock out. They control the bounce of the spring.
Also, do the above and check the springs. They can sag despite some insisting they won't. My drivers spring measured 11.5" to the frame, the passenger was 13". Stock rated springs are 1600lbs, you can upgrade if the load capacity is needed. Replaced them with 1900lb set, new shocks, rides nice.
Look up General Spring KC if getting new springs.
