Default Help

I have a 2018 F150 5.0L 10sp auto. It is a crew cab with a 6.5 ft bed. I have a rumble\vibration that cannot be figured out. My truck has been to a dealership many times. I can feel the vibration at pretty much all speeds. I have had the drive shaft replaced twice and the ring and pinion gears replaced. My tires and wheels have been balanced and Road forced balanced. I still have the same issue. The speed of the vibration feels like the speed of a drive shaft. The only thing left that I can think of would be a transmission problem. Because I know this problem is there I can feel it at all speeds. It presents itself the most at 25 mph and at 42 mph and all the way up to 85 mph. Some speeds are subtle others are more noticeable. I have even felt the problem at a speed as low as one mile per hour. Does anybody have any information or advice? It's getting pretty old bringing my truck back and forth to a dealership to figure this out. Thanks in advance.

Is this a four wheel drive truck? And if so can you put it in 4Hi while driving a straight line and see if your problem goes away?

Have they checked pinion angle? I recall a post that found that as the fix to the problem. I am having a similar issue 2018 XLT 3.5 SCREW 4x4, short box, max tow. Dealer has done nothing so far because all the parts are backordered. They want to start by replacing the driveshaft which seems like just the beginning of a lot of trial and error with no prior diagnosis.
My vibration gets worse and most pronounced at 50 mph when towing. I am at 59k on it now and it has become progressively worse since first noticed at 400 miles.

Have you tried changing out the wheels and tires?

Yes it is 4WD. I did what you suggested this morning and unfortunately no change. This is blowing my mind. Thanks for your response.

Not sure if they checked the pinion angle or not. I will check with them the next visit. Thanks for your response.

One of the first things I did was put the wheels and tires from the new truck on my older f150 and it went very smooth. The old truck wheels and tires went on the newer truck and still felt the vibration. The dealer put a set of wheels and tires off of a brand new truck and the vibration was still there. Thanks for your response.

Yes. When I'm slowing down and hit 25mph is shows up more. Cruising at 38-45ish mph is more pronounced. I can feel it all the time no matter what speed. It is just worse at certain speeds. Even going at 1mph I can barely feel the "bumping". Which to me is the speed of the driveshaft. Thanks for your response.

Does this vibration get worse during braking? Do you feel the vibration through your seat or your steering wheel? Can you get the wheels off the ground and spin them by hand and see if you can notice anything?
