Default Help

Alright maybe im just dumb but for the life of me I cannot get a straight answer online and or from any charts I have seen and I have come to you all for help! I have a 17 F150 SCREW Lariat SE with 20x8.5 wheels. I have a lift on order from BDS (hopefully before I die it arrives) and I cannot figure out if I can run stock wheels with their backspacing requirements being 5.5". Honestly I wanted to run a 33x12.5R20 but i've been told that would be small looking so any options and or opinions are appreciated.

Truck in reference

Sincerely the forum idiot (me)

did i miss the part where you told us what size lift?

33's fit on a stock truck...i have them on my leveled truck and i kinda think they are on the small side...i would think with a lift 4 in or higher id do a min of 35 inch tire....but individual tastes will differ

Yeah, my problem is I don't understand backspacing to Offset. So if I look it up online it shoes 6" of Backspacing so I am assuming it will be fine. Again why I came here.

if you are keeping the stock wheels, i think they are 5.5 backspacing and +44 offset...so they should work...the issue with lift kits and UCA's is that they require a specific backspacing to run a certain width of a tire so your tire doesnt rub the UCA.

Heres a good article:

So looking at this a 35x12.5R20 would be more than enough backspacing with stock wheels. If I am understanding it correctly. Thanks!

I dont know...i said " i think they are 5.5 backspacing" but when i googled it i got a few results ranging from 5-6 inches.

I would email BDS and double check before you spend a bunch of money on tires that rub...but i would find out the exact specs of your wheels prior to that..

Double check the rim width recommended for the tires you want. The stock rims may not be wide enough and the tire place may not be willing to mount them.
