HELP! 4" Screen To 8" Screen Conversion
Hi guys, new here as you can see. I might be in the wrong section for this question but if you can direct me if I'm not in the correct section please do. So i have a 2016 Ford F-150 with the 4" screen sync 1 base model. I bought the upgrade harness off ebay and all the necessary things need to do the upgrade. I installed a Gen 3 late 2019 plus APIM that had 3.3 on it. Anyways, can anyone else tell me if you did the same thing and if you did, have you had any issues with anything? Tnx
Are you having a problem that you’re interested in getting some assistance with, or just wondering in general? There’s several threads on this forum related to upgrading if you want to read others reports of what they did or didn’t do and everything in between. 99% of problems with 4 to 8 inch upgrades are people who fail to do any sort of research ahead of time and throw parts in or improperly program the AsBuilt in the associated modules, and are then surprised it doesn’t work as expected.
If you have no DTCs stored after doing your upgrade, and all functions work as expected, then you can most likely consider it a success and enjoy it. I’ve never heard of a 4 to 8 inch upgrade causing and engine to blow up or brakes to go out, if that’s any sort of a worry.
