Yeah that pissed me off. I had my truck shipped over from another dealer based on the spec and we assumed it had them. It didn't when it showed up and I assumed (again! UGH!) that I could add them later for a decent price.

 

 

If you remove the mirror cap on the interior side of the door and take a picture, I can tell you if powered trailer/tow mirrors will work. Everything but 360 degree camera and BLIS works via the 22 pin connector. BLIS and 360 degree are controlled by the smaller of the two connectors. You will more-than-likely have to upgrade the mirror switch panel as well but that's cheap.

It has nothing to do with the FX4 package but everything to do with what harness you have within that mirror cap on the interior side of the door.

I just had tow mirrors installed on my Platinum last week and it has fx4 package.

 

I ran into same thing. They assumed because my truck had the max tow package that it woukd have the tow mirrors and once they found out it didn't they basically had to swap them out for me free of charge. They did a dealer trade for a truck with em and put em on mine. Plug n play.

 

You'll have no issues installing the same featured tow mirrors as it'll be a simple plug n play. Do you have the 360 degree camera?

 

This is why I don't trust anyone in sales whenever I buy something. I do all the research myself, walk in, and walk out without any issues due to knowing exactly what I am getting before stepping in the door.

Not that I'm saying the op didn't do this, but it makes my life so much easier because I know the difference between facts and sales person BS.

 

Ok making progress I produced the window sticker of the truck I test drove 2 months ago that had FX4 and tow mirrors.

 

Ok they swore up and down that some feature on the truck prevented them from ordering it with tow mirrors (order system kept kicking it out). Since they never told me the order went through as intended he agreed to take $600 off because I was paying $600 for the tow package in order to get the mirrors. So at the end of the day I didn't get my mirrors, but got the truck $600 below invoice. I have no idea what is preventing the mirrors from going on or if that's even true, if they weren't so damn expensive I've buy them and put them on myself.
