If you look at the question asked by someone on Stage 3's page about an 1 1/2" rear block, stage 3 says that the 4x4's already have an 1 1/2" stock, so to lift it another 1 1/2" the guy would have to use a 3" block.

So that would mean that the 4x4's are about 1 1/2" taller, not taking any difference in tire size into account.

Depends on the situation. For road driving then that extra 1.4" is doing anything except maybe allow more undercarriage wind to cause a lower MPG but when you're off roading that same 1.4" extra of clearance could me the difference between you clearing a fallen log or some ledge. Your approach and departure angles are increased. Less chance of becoming high centered.

Is 1.4" inches going to make that much of a difference? Probably not noticeably.

I think there's a difference too between towing packages' heights. I added a 2" level, and can't believe the difference in the stance, much higher.
