Default Headrest

Does anyone have a fix for the headrest being to far forward on a 2018 XLT? Seems like no matter how I adjust the seat my head is only 1/4” away. It would be nice if it was like the rest of my vehicles and be about an inch.
Thanks!

Can remove the headrest from the seat, and re-insert "backwards" or flip it 180*.

I did try that but then it's back so far it's not safe.

The head rest is adjustable, grab the top of head rest and pull forward and it will go back. Then you can adjust it forward by slowly pulling it forward agan

Are you sure on an XLT? I've tugged and pulled and pushed but it only seems to go up and down.

I hated mine...I’m tall and the bottom of the headrest hit my neck no matter how I adjusted it. So I took them apart, sectioned 1” out of the metal framework and welded it back together to move the whole assembly back an inch. They’re perfect now.

Took me a month of owning my 2017 STX to figure this out. I wondered what idiot at Ford thought it was okay to position the headrest that far foward. Then I realized I was the idiot, lol.

Lol! Ya I too was having a moment this morning when I posted this. I did totally forget that they do move but it just doesn't seem to be enough going back. Seems like if I have my seat reclined a lot then it's not too bad, but for driving around town I like it a little straighter. That is when I wish it would go back another click or two.
Any more suggestions?

Nice! Was hoping for a little simpler plan. Lol
Totally understand the frustration though. Bugs the heck out of me.
