Default headlight issues

So I have a 2018 STX and I installed a set of Winjet Renegade led black projector headlights. They look great and everything works till I start the truck and then I lose the passenger side low beam. I was going to start putting the factory lights back in but decided to ask if anyone knew of anything besides the lights that would help. T

he bulbs don't come out of these all one unit.

Do they have anti-flicker resistors built in? Some LEDs don't draw enough current for the truck to recognize that a bulb is installed and will shut down the circuit.

I suggest getting or using Forscan to see if you truck is showing any DTCs for any of the lights up front. I had a weird issue when I put in just some replacement low beam LED bulbs where there was a fault for short to ground. Had a similar symptom where they would be fine for a while and then the passenger side would randomly shut off. I think i changed some of the settings to tell the truck not to look at faults for those bulbs as well as clearing the DTCs and seems to be fine now.

I think my symptoms came up when I replaced the battery, though that's just a guess. But I believe my lights did work perfectly when the vehicle was off, and I only ever noticed the issue with the truck running.

Hmm. Those lights have the low beam in the low position. Swapped position from stock it seems. How's the output on them? They seem a bit more costly than Morimoto Hybrids especially if you use the trade-in to get money back on your original halogens.

I got them on eBay for 465. I think they are usually 479 but I had them in my cart and the seller sent me a little cheaper offer

Make sure you have no pinched wires. Swap the headlights passenger to driver side and see if the problem persists or if it follows the headlight.

On a second look of finding those lights on eBay, the projectors are the low beams and the reflector on the bottom is the high beam. Makes sense, you'd want the cutoff of the projectors for the low beams. It appears you may have some loose wiring pins in the connectors or perhaps reversed wires. Pop the wheel well liners out the way and double check the pins on those connectors to make sure they are loose or something or maybe they mis-wired it internally. The main 4-pin connector on my 2018 halogen lights has the lights like this.

Top to bottom of the 4-pin connector is as follows.

1. Low beam positive
2. High beam positive
3. Ground
4. Ground
