Default Having problems getting Fordpass setup

I have an '18 XLT with the 4.2" screen. I downloaded the Fordpass app but when I try to enable it on the screen, the Fordpass icon only shows up for a second and then disappears. When I click on Find More Apps, it won't find it. Each time I turn bluetooth off and back on the icon will show for a split second and disappear. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Do you have the Sync connect in your XLT? (the wireless service) The fordpass app is only for this service. And if so, it would have nothing to do with connecting via bluetooth.

I also have 18 with 4.2 screen. I have been trying the same things. You might try this.Go to ford pass app on phone. As long as you have your truck info on app. App should show, my vehicles, my dealer, my wallet, park, ect. Mine does not have vehicle controls. Does yours? I think this is the difference between 4.2 screen and 8 inch. Post here or let me know if you find out different. Best of luck.

This isn't entirely true. While Fordpass is more functional on vehicles with Connect, you can still use Fordpass via Smartlink (Applink) on non-Connect vehicles.

Yep, I don't have Sync Connect, just Sync 3 and the Fordpass app comes up on my screen. It's useless without Sync Connect though. I thought I could use the parking search feature on the truck but it only works on the phone.

Gotcha thanks. (Applink is next to useless in Canada, so never payed much attention to it).

With ios to use applink you must be connected by usb. So maybe thats the problem with the OP.

The Ford Pass app says that ios uses the usb and android has to use bluetooth. I've had zero luck getting anything to work.

Ok true, no Vehicle Health Alerting in Canada. Sorry didn't notice your location.

Ford is having ford pass issues with 2018's and some 2017's. I had called them earlier today because none of my controls within the app would do anything to the truck. I tried a master reset, reinstalling the app, and removing the truck from the app both on my end and with them in their system. He said they know of the issue and that a fix should be out some time in November.

I don't have phone aps enabled yet on my '18 platinum, but I tried to get Fordpass to enable the truck without luck. Select enable vehicle on the app on an iPhone, and get a msg on the phone to start the truck and accept the notification in a popup on the truck's screen...but no such popup appears. The phone ap sits in pending activation for two days and then says there was an error and try again.

I chatted with someone through the Fordpass app and they said to take it to a dealer. Bummer
