Default Has anyone ever...

Something I’ve been thinking about doing was replacing my rear window with one that has the powered slide. Has anyone ever done this? Is it possible?

I'm sure all of us STX owners have wondered the same thing at some point.

Looks like the complete replacement with power motor is readily available.
Amazon Amazon

Probably get it even cheaper and installed through your local windshield replacement guy.

How you wire up the window switch could take some research.
I'm guessing all the wiring is there but may need to be activated or something once the switch is installed.

Although I have never done what you are asking, take a minute and think about whether you will really use it. My last four trucks had it and I used it maybe twice just to see if it works. A nickel's worth of free advice I guess.

I wake up in the middle of the night and it's pouring rain I think OMG did I close the rear window. Thus, I use it sparingly.

Mine has it and I have opened it twice. Once when I bought it and once to demonstrate to a friend. I almost wish it wasnt there. One less thing to fail.

Don't do it, use the $$ toward other upgrade. I had those windows on all 3 of my trucks, and used it once or twice.

I use mine all the time. Hated that my Chevy didn't have one. Not even an option at the time. I like driving with the Windows open and having the slider open about 1/3 stops that wind buffeting that drives you nuts.
Wish I had the pano roof.
There is already a thread about this around here somewhere. I believe the wires are there but you will need the switch and mount for the motor I think. Not sure if you will need the overhead console.

I only use mine when I open the sunroof. If I didn't have a sunroof, I'd want the solid glass.

When I picked my truck and saw it came with the power rear window I thought the same thing, that I would barely use it and to be honest I use it all the time. It definitely makes a difference, you can feel the window actually come back into the truck behind you when your driving. As someone mentioned too, it stops that horrible wind slapping sound too.
