Hard to start when cold.
2014 F150 5.0 liter engine. First start in the morning engine turns over fine but acts like an engine trying to flood. Eventually catches and runs fine. Rest of the day the engine starts normally. Sits overnight and repeats issue. Two years ago dealership replaced mass airflow sensor and worked good until recently. I replaced the sensor again and accomplished the computer reset procedure. Worked fine for about two weeks and then started acting up again. No codes. Any ideas?
Part of the long crank time is the Fuel Tank cools down from a drive cycle over such a wide Temperature range that the sealed Tank system develops a vacuum condition due to the drop in Temp and impedes the fuel delivery to the proper pressure to overcome the Tank vacuum at that time.
Think plastic Gas can that expand it heat and shrinks as it cools. Same action in the trucks tank except the tank does not change shape.
Open the cap or flap about 15 seconds then see if the crank time shortens a noticeable amount.
