Hard Shifting
Just picked up a very clean 2020 XLT and am experiencing some hard shifting at certain times. I also like going Manual for downshifting and it's not always smooth - especially 3rd to 2nd ... and then 2nd to 3rd. When I say hard I mean I get a think and jerk. Anyone else?
Thanks,
Dave

Also 2020 XLT 2.7 owner and I get the harshest shifting at 2->3 and 3->2 as well. Most times this shift sequence is skipped because in normal drive mode it goes 1->3 and 3->1 but in Sport or Tow/Haul this is not the case.
I'm about to do a transmission relearn reset with Forscan, I've never done a relearn before and have 26500 miles. My plan is to do a lot of 2->3 and 3->2 gear changes very early in the relearn period. I'll report back in a week or two with my results.

For whatever interest there may be.
Converter multiplication = 1.82 to 1 in first gear only. After converter locks up going to Second, there is no more multiplication in the rest of the gears 2 to 10.
1st 4.696.
2 2.985.
3. 2.146.
4. 1.769.
5. 1.520.
6. 1.275.
7. 1 to 1.
8. .854 first overdrive.
9. .689 second overdrive.
10. .636 third overdrive.
R= 4.866.
Low range transfer case reduction X all the above ratios X the rear gear ratio in each selection.

Good info Bluegrass! I sometimes get a hard shift around 5 o 6. I noticed last night that I had manually downshifted to 4th going down a grade, then threw it in Drive and it hit 5th hard. I use Manual a lot and wish that Manual and Drive played better with each other.
For what it's worth 3 > 2 is usually a hard downshift for me if I'm in Tow/Haul mode or Sport mode. In normal drive mode it shifts smooth up or down and with the OZ Omega tune my truck doesn't skip gears so it always shifts up and down through 2nd.

I bound my ‘19 with 160k miles on it. Rough shift from 4th-5th. Changed the fluid/filter and reset the adaptive trans learning and it almost disappeared. I siphoned out 5 more quarts after it ran for a few days and refilled with 5 new and it’s gone now. I think the fluid changes are extremely important on these 10 speeds.
