HALOGEN Fog Light Upgrades?
Hello all, I have combed these posts for weeks and haven't quite found specifically what I am looking for.
There are a lot of posts about the Morimotos (sweet lights by the way) and the $30 LED fog replacements from Amazon that a lot of people are happy with. I agree with the general populous that the Morimotos are top of the line and that the Amazon lights look great, but the throw pattern is very scattered.
So, I am looking to replace the stock bulbs with a whiter/ brighter halogen bulb that will throw more of a flood light pattern. I do not need the LED, I don't want to mess with the little boxes, wiring, fans, etc., I would just like to plug and play a different halogen bulb. THAT said, I have seen a couple posts here about over amp'ing the circuit and the heat build up of higher wattage bulbs. I am by no means an electrician. If the standard halogen bulbs are 35W, how high of a wattage can I safely replace with? I have seen some H10 halogen bulbs that burn at 5000K temp but they range from 45-60W, will I fry something?
If anyone went the halogen upgrade route and not the LED route, please share your experience and pics.
Thanks for your help!
