Default Grille guard

I see on another forum that a company has released a grill guard for 15 f150. Do these things work or are they just for looks? Looks like a well placed turkey would still mess up the front end, never mind a deer at 70mph.

Got my deer in Delaware!!

Not sure about your run of the mill tubular grill guard... But this should help plow through a deer.

In my opinion most grill guards are nothing more than bolt on beauty things, that do nothing but cave into the radiator when actually needed.

If u want a real grill guard you gotta look at the whole bumper... something like an ARB.

That's what I was thinking, all show. Thanks...those ARB's are nice but a bit extreme for my needs.

Hello F150Forum members,

Thanks for the link bgs133

We are offering Westin Grille Guards for 2015 F150s

priced from $355.95
First time customers receive a 5% discount

Most Grille Guards that are more than (lower bumper) Bull Bar/push-bar will provide some protection against brush and light road debris, but for things like deer, I agree with Bretcoe in going with a full bumper solution.
Also lifting your truck can help... if the deer goes under instead of on your hood.

The more I see this, the more I like it.
The deer hit was with a tractor trailer.

The westin HDX Brush guard I have for my f350 helps protect the lights and anything in the middle the bumper on the ends would get abused if I hit a deer however if you hit a deer right in the middle the guard would survive because its two steel I beams that the bars connect to.

I don't know if you have the same misfortune, but my parents live near Clarion and my uncle lives near Bedford (I grew up in Johnstown). Between the two of them they average at least 2 deer a year.

They both have said that if they weren't body work guys they would be driving something out of Beyond Thunderdome by now. They don't even swerve anymore. My Dad drives an 84' F-150 in the winter (plow) and I think he enjoys hitting them. My uncle drives a GMC Super Duty with a little bull bar on the front and at 50MPH he only had to replace a turn signal.
