Default Google Maps, and Waze Problems

2016 F150 Screw Platinum: Google Maps and Waze not working correctly, it is like there is no internet connection, there is no arrow on the map, only a small circle and it is about an inch off of the highway lines. It will not update its position sometimes, Sync maps is working though. I already did a master reset, it did not fix it. Any ideas?

Have you tried uninstalling / re-installing Android Auto (AA) from your phone and going through the initial AA setup again? Has Google Maps / Waze via AA ever worked correctly for you? Also, have you tried a different USB cable? AA seems very sensitive to poor or broken down cables.

Do those apps work properly on your phone without connection to Sync? If not then I would think you have an issue with your phones cell signal and not an issue with Sync.

All great ideas, I have gone into settings and done a few things but I will be trying the rest of the ideas today, hopefully it will be an easy fix.

After doing some testing I have found a couple of things, one is that one of the USB ports is not working, that is why both Google Maps and Waze were not working. After using the good port Google Maps works, but not Waze. Waze had worked before, I have deleted Waze and reloaded it to my phone, I have replaced the USB cable, and did a master reset, still Waze will not work correctly. I am not sure what to try next. I will have to take my truck to Ford to get the USB panel replaced.

My Waze acts goofy at times if I hook up when still connected to my home or work WiFi. It is a bit jerky until I acquires cell signal & drops off of WiFi.

I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 and you need to make sure to take the phone off battery saver if you are using waze through AA. If you do not do this it will not update your location correctly because of sleep mode. For some reason Google Maps will work either way, but this change fixed my waze performance.

Thanks for the tip, I have the S8 so I don't know if it is the same but I switched it off and will give it a try later today.
