going to trade
Going to trade my 15 xlt 4x4 supercab in on 17 almost identical truck except
Im going to add Sirius3. My dealer finally got new book in on the 2017 f150.
I have 5.0 in my 15 truck, only tow a 16ft fishing boat,so I am looking at the 2.7 ecoboost, but can't decide if the price difference /fuel mileage is worth it. I trade every 2 years and buy using z plan.Sales manager advises to wait for additional rebates and I'm in no rush. Present truck has 25000 mi. on it with no dings or scratches.Your thoughts on the 2.7 engine please.

Seriously, would not take much sifting through this site to see that people are very happy by an overwhelming margin with the 2.7l, myself included.
I"ve pulled a 5k boat through mountain terrain and it handled it like a champ, with a 14' enclosed trailer loaded with dirt bikes and gear plus 3 guys in truck I was able to actually pass people going up steep mountain passes with ease. This motor may be little but it thinks and acts like it's huge...

Just from what I have read, if you trade every 2 years you will probably love the EB. My understanding is Ford talked about putting a 3.5EB in a superduty but didn't because of longevity concerns. This is all hearsay but did influence my decision to go 5.0 since I keep a vehicle for 15-20 years.
@katoom pretty much summed this up. You will be hard pressed to find any negative feedback on the 2.7 and few reports of reliability issues (so far).
The vast majority will be praise in regards to its performance and mpg achievement. I love my 2.7 and highly recommend.
