I’m not interested in what GM does. Doesn’t mean they don’t make good vehicles, I’m just brand loyal. I’ve been a Ford guy my whole life, so until I have a Ford that I really don’t care for, I’ll just continue owning Fords. So far, I’ve been happy with every one I’ve owned.

As far as the GM being a crappy motor... The LS platform (1997) has been out 20 years now and has been their primary engine. The small block chevy engine (1955) was used for about 30 years. Both have been great engines and a reminder that time flys by as I bought my first car a Z28 in 1997 and funny enough my dad bought his first car a 55 Chevy in 1955.

Anyway... Ford hasn’t had much luck holding platforms that long, up until 2011 I wouldn’t have looked at a Ford. Outside of the Windsor SBF platform (I’ve owned a few project Fox body mustangs), I am too young to have bought a decent truck with those motors because I didn’t need a truck till I got out of college in the mid 2000s.

Ford is probably glad those new GM trucks are dog ugly.

Guessing that was probably one of the old pushrod 4.3's. Those things were bulletproof.

Not exactly topic relevant. I've had three Chevy 2500's. An 89, 95 and 2000.
I've had 4 - f150's. A 2005, a 2010, a 2014 and now a 2018. I also had an 84 - f250 with the 300ci straight 6. That engine went to 300,000 miles and I still sold it to another who drove it for a while.

All three Chevys, no word of a lie left me stranded.
Every ford has brought me home. That's all I have to say.

So those heated Chevy tailgates came in handy then.

Didn't anticipate heated and tailgate in the same sentence...
I'll say tho, Ford never left me out in the cold.
