Default getting really bad rubbing please help

hey guys a complete newb here. I am getting really bad rubbing with my combo.

285/65/20 BFG ko2 and F150 KMC Wheels 20x9" XD Rock Star II Wheel with 18+ offset. with no level yet. I asked the dealer would this be a problem and he said no, also i remember reading that those tires would fit without rubbing and without a leveling kit.

my questions are, how safe is it too drive ? and these tires are 34.5" how big of a leveling kit do i need?

Lol whoever told you that would fit straight up lied. 2" kit should clear you with minor rub.

As for safety, I can't think of anything unsafe except maybe not being able to turn the wheel as far as you may need to

1.5 or 2" level would probably do it. What has thrown you off is the offset of the rims. Had you put those those tires on the stock rims you would have been fine especially with a 1.5 - 2" level.

There's still a chance you'll have to move the crash bars a bit.

I've got a 4" lift and pushed in crash bars, 285/65/20 KO2's with Platinum stock rims. I would have rubbed against crash bars, even with the lift. I still have a minor rub against my mudflaps, which are paper-thin and entirely metal within the wheel-well.
When your tires have a wider diameter than your wheel wells you're going to have to do some work, especially if you want to do some off-roading without destroying your paint.

I don't know if you can get away with having mud-flaps without a real lift while having these tires, but I know you can fit them with an inexpensive level if you don't need the flaps.

Okay thanks guys for the suggestions. I also have mudflaps on my truck. So let's say I get 2.5 level and remove the mudflaps I should be okay right..?

If it was me.... I would do a 2" level, leave the flaps on (for now) and push the crash bars back a bit. Remove the flaps only if they still rub.

By pushing the bars back, do you guys mean trimming, or can you physically move them further back from where they are set now? I have a little but bigger tire and in very selective circumstances I get the smallest amount of rub, would love to get rid of it without Cutting the bars.

One way is to loosen one of the bolts and use a mallet/hammer to push the crash bar forward and out of the way. I did this last week and it worked well. No need to take the wheel off either.

I'm running a 2.5" in front with the same tires on 20" wheels. You can see the specs and photos in the thread in my signature.

Good luck.
