Getting a Mustang GT....trade options?
Hello all,
So the time has finally come where i convinced my Fiance we should get a Mustang GT for our summer driving
Problem is i'm not sure if we should keep the F150 (2015 XLT w/ fox 2.0, Raptor Grille, AFE intake, Borla Muffler) and buy the mustang, or Trade in my truck on the mustang.
The Truck is Paid off and i have owned it since new however the KM's are getting up there currently 80k km. I love this truck but it is my every day driver and i don't "Need" a truck for driving every day.
Only reason i'm looking to trade it in now is because the value is pretty much where i need it to be for a decent trade and if i wait too much longer i don't think i will get what i want. I'm wondering if anyone has some advise since i'm pretty dumb when it comes to buying/selling cars. here are some options i came up with.
Option A:
Trade truck for a new 2018 mustang and buy a cheap high km AWD SUV for Every day driving.
Option B:
Keep truck buy a lightly used Mustang (2015-2016).- Will require some financing
Option C:
Trade truck on a used Mustang (2016-2017) and buy a nice lower KM AWD SUV for Every day driving.
i have about 15-20k cash to play with. I can finance more but would prefer not to.

Once you own a truck, you'll always own (or wish you own) a truck. Option B of the ones you have listed.

Plans for the Mustang? Keeping it stock and auto or manual?
The answer to these questions would sway me on what year to get.

keeping it stock for most part, will be a GT Premium with performance pack to start. Most i would do is suspension, headers w/ full exhaust, and a stage 2 kit from ford performance to keep warranty on engine. After warranty will get it dyno tuned. It will be a manual and my fiance will be driving it too so i cant go too crazy with the power.

Keep the truck and buy a mustang new or used, either way it would work out the same as other options. either way you have payments (assuming you not buying outright) then adding another payment or cash out of pocket on a low mileage SUV. From experience, you will need/want a truck with the mustang. They don't hold much as far as cargo goes.

I just bought my truck so I can haul around my 2012 Boss 302. They're a match made in heaven. Keep 'em both if you can.

If you're going to buy a Mustang buy a 2018 GT PP2, Magna ride, Active exhaust, 401A Package. The 2018 is the best Mustang GT Ford has fielded to date that doesn't have a Shelby badge.
But you'll still want a Truck..........That can do everything the F150 can do. My Oxford White with Redline Interior.

Option B. And I must laugh... the kms are getting up there? 80K? That's not even broken in yet. Your truck should easily be good for 300K.

This is so true... I have had about 4 full size trucks now and I cant remember last time I carried anything "truck worthy" but I do have a car too but having a truck in my stable is a must, needed or not.

Keep the truck and buy the most you can comfortably afford in the Mustang.
