Default Get rid of volume setting display sync3

I don't care to see the radio volume setting number pop up on the screen. Is there a way to stop this feature? I find it annoying. I can hear the volume changing, don't need a display to tell me.

There is a bit that can be changed with Forscan that mentions Horizontal volume, but no mention of totally disabling it.

7D0-01-01 xxxx *xxx xxxx - Aux Input & Volume **** Display: 0=Audio Only & Rotary volume, 8=Audio & Video & Rotary volume, 1=Audio Only & Horizontal volume

Can I ask why it's a big deal? It only pops up for a second or two. How often are you actually adjusting the volume?

Not so much annoying in itself, but it is annoying that some engineer spent time and effort to come up with such a useless "feature". There are a few other items that I can think of that the time would have been better spent on. (Like wipers that actually park parallel to the bottom of the windshield)... My 2¢ for the evening.

Cheers

@barrytone , it's just that different songs play back at different volume levels. I've tried normalization for mp3s on the usb drive with not much difference.

I looked into this once early on and didn’t see a way. I did change it to horizontal at the time and kept it that way since. It’s slightly less obtrusive and better matches the overall angular look of the interior and exterior anyways.

You could keep your eyes forward out the windshield <winks>

In the daytime it's not a bother. On a dark road at night, with the dash display dimmed, adjusting the volume is a bother, especially since the volume display doesn't seem to be tied to the instrumentation dimmer. It's like a flashlight blinking from the center of your dashboard. You can try to not look at it but it hits your peripheral vision anyway and is distracting. A white number on a dark background would be an acceptable design. Dark number on a white background is not. What's frustrating is that the amount of software coding effort to set foreground/background colors is minimal, not that we can do anything about it other than whine.

This is one of the most bizarre asks.

It is one of the most bizarre "features" in sync that it needs to be so large. Honda/Acura has a very small set of bars and number that appears in a corner where nothing else is.

And I may be wrong, but you can't access another button until the volume circle clears (no idea about the bar). For example, like changing the station. Again, not at my truck at the moment, but I have experienced this and it may have been in my Flex. To me it's just annoying, as the numbers being displayed have nothing to do with where I set the volume. If my doctor told me to never listen to the radio above 14, then I guess I would have a new found appreciation for the feature.
