Gear Indicator Wrong When Driving
I don't even have to look at the gear indicator to feel when this happens. I glance at it constantly when driving when I check my speed and I see it go into 10th but no feeling of a shift or any gear change and can drive without looking at it knowing it will stay or say 10 but can feel the TC or shift or whatever is happening later without even looking at it.

It does happen when warm as I said, I don't think temp has any affect on it. Happens summer and winter after driving it for 4 hour or after I just got in 4 min ago. But doesn't do it every time. These instances I was driving for probably 10-15min. Reason Trans temp was so low is because it's was so cold outside. After warming up for 5min or so I drove for 10-15 before this happens. It had previously shifted into 10th just fine before this video a few miles back. When it's around or below 0F out, I can drive for almost 15 min on highway before Trans will hit 100 after a 5min warm up before driving. And I don't just hop on the interstate, I have just shy of 2 miles before I reach interstate.
Driving 15 min at near 0* temp and only 100* is not normal. That in itself is a clue.
It should have been upwards of 175*
At 100* is barely above your body temp.
Likely the temperature controller bypass is faulty/stuck open. The cooler was in play all the time and not letting the temp rise. Same action as a thermostat in the cooling system.
The fluid needs to be above ambient to shift smoothly.
Even the old 4r70 and 4r100 3 speeds would not go into OD until the fluid temp was above 100*.
Good luck.

Interesting, it has always been pretty slow to warm up. Maybe their is more to it. Thank you for the insight. I figured it was just normal as this is the first and only F150 I have owned. I'll look into the temperature controller also. Because there are times on road trips when going through WY/MT was in the single digits and I was doing over 80 and the trans temp never reached 175* at all after sustained 80+ mph for hours at a time. 212* or 214* is the highest I've ever seen. Thanks again!

Good luck. Odd shifting issues come down to a bad sensor on the lead frame most of the time.
