I was disappointed by the lack of adjustable ambient lights, and not being able to see the transmission gears illuminated too. Also the door open symbol could show which of the 4 doors is open vs the two open doors and message.

What would be the point of illuminating gear selector lights, that don't show the gear selected? That's what the meter is for.

My XLT was built 3/18 and they don't light up, and honestly, I couldn't care less.

They removed MID 2018, you can add it easily, just do a search. less than 20 dollars

Yes, I would have rather they eliminated the ambient lighting in the doors or cupholders or anything else that not every other vehicle in the universe has. This is the only vehicle I've owned or rented with a console shifter on which the letters didn't light up (until I bought and installed the bulb myself). Dumb.
