Just got a 2018 a week ago and noticed my gear indicator lights on the console don't light up (P,N,R,D,M) at night.

Are these supposed to have the blue backlighting all the other indicators on the dash and console do at night?

No. Ford decided to cut costs in a few areas on the 2018's, and those lights are one of the casualties.

Thanks! Makes me at least feel better something isn't broken.

Annoying though that they cut costs on things like this and the color changing ambient lights. Especially considering how expensive these trucks are!

I've never noticed if mine light up or not. I know its in the gauge cluster.

I think they put the gear indicator lights on the back burner and are focusing instead on how to make door latches that will work in freezing weather now that winter is nearing.

My 2018 XLT has those lights. Built in 12/17.

Mine has a 07/18 build date. Wonder when they stopped including this? Bizarre they would stop mid-model year.

My `15 KR console letters does light up. It looks like they are painted on.
