Yes. Your service department will know what they have to do. A new cluster should technically be "blank" and have to be programmed.

So...you work in the parts department, ehh? How much (if you don't mind me asking)? I think TASCA has them for about $500+. I'm confused on the whole VIN thing too. Can't service just pull up the info on any VIN that was built - just do a search on your twin (albeit upgraded trim) truck? Anyway, I just want to make sure that everything that worked on my 4.2 would work on the 8... Also, not sure if this would matter much, but does the dealer have to take this into consideration anytime they "flash" the CPU or that I run a tuner...would that have any impact? So many questions! LOL!

Default Gauge cluster swap

Had some free time today so went by the dealer. Had them program the cluster with as built data I supplied and everything works 100%. Video in link.

I have a 5.0 so no. If you programmed it for an EB it would.

Me too! Tasca has said the core charge/swap needs to be like for like. Sounds like a 700-1000 upgrade? New of course...

I told the person I bought mine from on eBay to let me know if they come across any others. I don't think there will be a lot of used ones floating around for a while yet. I just got lucky when I happened across mine. Now that we know it works I'm sure any on eBay will get a little more attention as well.
