Default Gatorback No-Drill braclets without flares

I got my 2016 XLT last week and I am working on putting on mud flaps.

I purchased Gatorbacks and their no-drill braclets.

The front driver side went well and the passenger front went OK.

The driver rear is not going very well.

Has anybody installed these brackets without flares? I think they would be great when you have flares, but without flares, there is nothing to hold the bracket to the body (or cover up the gap).

Any suggestions?

Try watching the link maybe you have? But it looks to me like that bracket should be on the inside of the fender so when you place the flap and washer on it sandwiches to the wheel well lip. I have a set of these to put on but waiting for my truck to arive!

All the instructional videos have trucks with flares, so the brackets are just tucked behind the flare.

I tried moving the bracket inside, but it is a bit too tall and then it makes an odd angle with the rear brace.

Any other ideas?

I was looking into getting a set of these for the new truck that's coming and holy cow are they pricy!

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong one but for front and rear including the mounting brackets would cost me about $900 CAD!

Is that crazy or was I just looking at the wrong one?

Possibly looking at the wrong one I priced them out at cap-it Lethbridge they were $186/pair (gun metal so all the other choices would be less) so you would need 2 pair for the flaps $90 for front bracket no drill and $110 for rear no drill bracket. Which is still pretty expensive $900 may have been an installed price but the video looks pretty easy.

I got them off of Amazon for a little over $400.

They are nice mud flaps, but I am not impressed with the brackets at this time.

I have e-mailed the company, so I hope to hear back from them on Monday.
